We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Vanilla Bean Helper – Farm Assistant to join our team in Mazarrón. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about agriculture and eager to learn the intricate process of vanilla cultivation. You will play a crucial role in supporting our farming operations, from planting and tending to harvesting and post-harvest processing of vanilla beans, ensuring the highest standards of quality and care. This is an on-site role that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing segment of specialty agriculture.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Assist with the daily care and maintenance of vanilla plants, including pruning, watering, and trellising.
• Support pollination efforts for vanilla orchids, a delicate and critical task requiring precision.
• Monitor plant health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies promptly.
• Participate in harvesting mature vanilla beans according to specific ripeness indicators and protocols.
• Aid in the post-harvest curing process, including sun-drying, sweating, and sorting of vanilla beans.
• Prepare planting beds, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines for sustainable and organic farming practices.
• Contribute to general farm duties as needed, including minor repairs and groundskeeping to ensure overall farm functionality.

• Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to consistent attendance.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg, bending, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Eagerness to learn new agricultural techniques and processes, particularly those unique to vanilla cultivation.

• Basic understanding of plant care or a strong willingness to learn horticulture principles.
