We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our dynamic team at the Port of Cartagena. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, including various types of cranes, to load, unload, and move cargo within the port terminals. This role requires precision, adherence to strict safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining operational flow in a fast-paced environment. Responsabilidades Clave

• Operate various types of cranes (e.g., gantry cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes) to lift and move cargo, containers, and other materials.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
• Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment, including fluid levels, safety devices, and operational functionality, reporting any defects immediately.
• Communicate effectively with ground crews, supervisors, and other team members using hand signals, radios, and other communication devices.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of cargo movements and operational hours.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of crane equipment as required.
• Ensure the secure and safe placement of loads.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations accordingly to maintain safety.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating heavy cranes in a port, construction, or industrial setting.
• Valid national heavy machinery operator's license/certification specific to crane operation.
• Proficiency in interpreting load charts and operating manuals.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for crane operation.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational efficiency.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Experience with specific port terminal operating systems (TOS).
• Technical degree or vocational training in heavy equipment operation.
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and English).
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment beyond cranes (e.g., forklifts, reach stackers).
