Are you passionate about nature, eager to learn a unique skill, and ready for a hands-on career in a thriving agricultural sector? Mielso S.L. is looking for a dedicated Beekeeping Assistant to join our team in Figueres. This is an entry-level position and full training will be provided, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals with no prior beekeeping experience but a strong desire to learn and contribute. You will work closely with experienced beekeepers, assisting in all aspects of apiary management and honey production, ensuring the health and productivity of our bee colonies.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Assist experienced beekeepers with hive inspections, maintenance, and health checks.
• Learn and apply best practices for handling bees, frames, and beekeeping equipment safely.
• Support in the harvesting of honey, pollen, propolis, and other bee products.
• Help with the cleaning, repair, and preparation of beekeeping equipment and apiary sites.
• Monitor bee colony health and report any signs of disease, pests, or unusual activity.
• Participate in the relocation of hives and setting up new apiary locations.
• Maintain accurate records of hive activities and production data.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Eagerness and willingness to learn beekeeping practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy hive bodies and equipment (up to 25 kg).
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and around stinging insects.
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic communication skills in Spanish or Catalan.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• A valid driver's license (B category) and access to reliable transportation.
• Previous experience in agriculture, farming, or outdoor work.
• A genuine interest in natural history, ecology, or insect biology.
