We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Animal Shelter Volunteers to join our dedicated team in Girona. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the well-being of dogs, cats, and other small animals awaiting their forever homes. As an ‘English Welcome’ volunteer, we specifically encourage individuals who are fluent in English to apply, as you will help us communicate with our diverse team and potential international adopters. While this is primarily an on-site role, the rewarding experience and direct impact on animal lives are immeasurable. No prior experience is required; we provide all necessary training.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Assist with the daily feeding and watering of animals.
• Clean and maintain kennels, cat rooms, and other animal enclosures to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Provide exercise and enrichment for animals through walks, playtime, and socialization.
• Assist with basic grooming tasks, such as brushing and bathing, as needed.
• Help with administrative tasks, including updating animal records and managing supplies.
• Support adoption events and help potential adopters interact with animals.
• Communicate effectively with staff, other volunteers, and the public, especially those who speak English.
• Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns or changes to the veterinary team or supervisors.
• Assist with facility maintenance and general tidiness of the shelter grounds.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• A genuine love and respect for animals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20kg, stand for extended periods, and perform cleaning tasks.
• Patience and compassion towards animals, including those who may be shy or fearful.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Prior experience working or volunteering with animals, though not required.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior or welfare.
• Ability to speak Spanish or Catalan is a plus, but not essential.
• Experience with social media or content creation for non-profits.
