We are seeking a skilled and passionate Furniture Restorer to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of various furniture styles and materials, and the ability to execute high-quality restoration work. This role involves preserving and enhancing the beauty and integrity of our hotel’s diverse furniture collection, ensuring its longevity and aesthetic appeal for our discerning guests. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication within our international team and with suppliers.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Inspect, assess, and document the condition of furniture pieces, identifying areas for restoration or repair.
• Perform comprehensive restoration, conservation, and repair of wooden furniture, upholstery, and other materials using appropriate techniques.
• Clean, strip, sand, and refinish surfaces, carefully matching existing finishes where necessary.
• Repair and replace damaged veneers, inlays, and structural components.
• Select and apply appropriate finishes, including lacquers, polishes, oils, and waxes, to protect and enhance furniture.
• Reupholster or repair upholstered items, working with various fabrics, springs, and stuffing materials.
• Maintain an organized and clean workshop, ensuring proper inventory and maintenance of tools and materials.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices in all restoration activities.
• Collaborate with the interior design and maintenance teams on specific projects and furniture selection.
• Provide accurate estimates for restoration costs and timeframes.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in furniture restoration, conservation, or fine woodworking.
• Demonstrated proficiency in both traditional and modern restoration techniques.
• Expert knowledge of various wood types, finishes, and furniture construction methods.
• Ability to perform precise repairs on delicate and valuable items with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of aesthetic principles and historical furniture styles.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for clear communication.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Formal qualification or certification in furniture restoration, conservation, or a related craft.
• Experience with antique furniture and specific historical styles (e.g., Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern).
• Familiarity with advanced upholstery techniques and fabric care.
• Knowledge of Spanish or Catalan is an advantage.
• A portfolio showcasing previous restoration projects.
