Acciona is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Welding Inspector to join our quality assurance team in Madrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities comply with international standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and quality of our construction and engineering projects. Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement as you will be working on international projects and with diverse teams. You will perform visual inspections, review welding procedures, and document all findings thoroughly.
Responsabilidades Clave
- Conduct visual inspections of welds before, during, and after welding operations.
- Verify compliance with welding procedures specifications (WPS), project drawings, and relevant codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, EN ISO).
- Monitor welding parameters, techniques, and filler material usage.
- Review welder qualifications and ensure their validity.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action requests.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and welding personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all inspection activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis for welding-related defects.
Habilidades Requeridas
- Proven experience as a Welding Inspector, preferably in large-scale construction or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) and materials.
- Familiarity with international welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, EN ISO 15614, etc.).
- Proficiency in performing visual inspections and interpreting NDT results.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, for international project communication.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Cualificaciones Preferidas
- Internationally recognized welding inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, EWS/IWS).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond visual, such as PT, MT, UT, RT.
