We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Department to lead our English Language teaching team in Valencia. This pivotal role involves overseeing the academic quality, operational efficiency, and strategic development of our English programmes. The successful candidate will inspire and manage a team of dedicated teachers, ensure high standards of teaching and learning, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of the British Council in Spain. Responsabilidades Clave

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of English Language teachers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of English language curricula and teaching methodologies.
• Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality English language teaching and learning experiences.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational plans.
• Recruit, train, and conduct performance reviews for departmental staff.
• Monitor student progress, satisfaction, and achievement, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Stay abreast of developments in English Language Teaching (ELT) and integrate best practices into programmes.
• Represent the department and the British Council at internal and external events.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the centre's educational offerings.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Proven leadership and management experience within an educational setting, preferably in ELT.
• Excellent command of the English language (C2 level or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of curriculum development and pedagogical best practices in ELT.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire and develop teaching professionals.
• Experience with quality assurance and programme evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Master's degree in ELT, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
• DELTA, DipTESOL, or equivalent advanced ELT qualification.
• Proficiency in Spanish (B2 level or higher).
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Familiarity with the British Council's educational frameworks and standards.
