We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Rigging Technician to join our dynamic team at the port of Palamos. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads and cargo within the port environment. This includes selecting, inspecting, and using rigging equipment, operating hoisting mechanisms, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and operational procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial rigging, a meticulous approach to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding maritime setting.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Inspect rigging equipment such as slings, cables, and lifting gear to ensure it is in safe working condition and meets all regulatory standards.
• Select appropriate rigging gear and methods based on the weight, size, and shape of loads to be moved.
• Attach and detach loads from crane hooks or other hoisting apparatus.
• Signal crane operators during lifting and placing activities to ensure precise and safe movement.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and port regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on rigging equipment as required.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a proactive safety culture.
• Assist with the planning and execution of complex lifting operations.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections and maintenance activities.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Proven experience as a Rigging Technician in an industrial or port environment.
• Thorough knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and rigging diagrams.
• Strong understanding of heavy lifting equipment operation (e.g., cranes, forklifts).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Relevant rigging certification (e.g., LEEA, NCCCO Rigger).
• Experience with specialized cargo handling and project logistics.
• Familiarity with port specific safety regulations and procedures.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
